Tuesday Night Boys Hoops Recap: Clay County Holds On For Win Over Pickett County

Clay County 59, Pickett County 56

The Bulldogs swept the the Pickett County Bobcats in the regular season series with their three-point win on Tuesday night.

Grant Strong led all scorers with a 32-point, 12-rebound double-double, while Gunnar Silk added 14 points.

Hunter Wattenbarger led the Bobcats with 27 points, while Will Amonett scored 14 points.

Clay County will take on Red Boiling Springs on Friday, while Pickett County will host Jackson County.

Trousdale County 69, Clarkrange 47

The Buffaloes got off to a slow start in their 69-47 loss at the hands of Trousdale County.

Haden Smith led the effort with 21 points, while Evan Cantrell added 10 points.

Clarkrange will take on Cumberland County on Thursday.

Livingston Academy 69, Macon County 37

The Wildcats moved into third place by themselves on Tuesday with their 69-37 win over Macon County.

Matthew Sells continued his Mr. Basketball campaign with a game-high 22 points, while Nick Choate added nine points. Isaac Story scored eight points of his own.

Livingston will have a quick turnaround, as they host York Institute on Wednesday.

Warren County 56, Stone Memorial 40

The Pioneers continued their excellent play of late with a 16-point win over the Panthers in Crossville.

C.J. Taylor also continued his recent hot streak, as he scored a game-high 25 points to pace the Pioneers. Kaden Rutledge added 13 points of his own, and Dee Spates scored 12 points.

Dylan Whittenburg led the Panthers with nine points.

Both teams will be at home on Friday, as Warren will host Rhea County and Stone Memorial will take on Cookeville.

Upperman 62, Watertown 54

The Bees won their 10th district game of the season on Tuesday over Watertown by a final score of 62-54.

Collin Gore led all scorers with 19 points, while Alex Rush added a 14-point, 14-rebound double-double. Jace McWilliams scored 15 points.

The Bees will take on York Institute in a rematch from last Friday on Thursday.

York Institute 62, Smith County 50

The Dragons kept pace with Upperman in the standings after their 12-point win over Smith County.

Jon Heddings played one of his best games of the season, as he scored a game-high 21 points. Riley Cooper and Nic Smith each scored eight points.

York will host Upperman on Thursday.

DeKalb County 67, Cannon County 50

Cookeville 64, White County 57

Jackson County 68, Red Boiling Springs 30
