The DeKalb County Tigers (1-3) failed to secure their first road win of the season on Friday when they lost to Watertown by a final score of 42-20.
After falling behind 7-0 early, Quarterback Axel Aldino threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to Isaac Knowles to tie the game.
Watertown responded by scoring 28 unanswered points that spanned the rest of the way in the first half, leading to the Purple Tigers taking a 35-7 lead into the locker room.
Aldino broke the scoring streak by throwing an 11-yard dart to Desmond Nokes that cut the lead down to 35-14.
The defense couldn’t get a stop however, and Watertown pushed the lead on another scoring drive to 42-14. DeKalb got one last touchdown from new Quarterback Kolter Kilgore, as he threw a bullet to Silas Cross from 10 yards out to send us to the final score of 42-20.
DeKalb will face Grundy Co. at home on Sept. 20 at 7 P.M.
