Tiger Football Advances After Thrilling Win Over Marshall Co.

The DeKalb County Tigers earned a hard-fought, last-minute victory over Marshall County by a final score of 28-24.

The Tigers opened the scoring late in the first quarter when Axel Aldino threw a 26-yard touchdown pass to give DeKalb a 7-0 lead, but it was Marshall County who scored the final 10 points of the half to go into the locker room with a 10-7 lead.

DeKalb came out of the break strong defensively, and after trading stalled drives, the Tigers took the lead on a 2-yard touchdown run by David Bradford.

Marshall County answered this with another scoring run, this one being 14 straight points as they took their biggest lead of the game at 24-14.

Bradford scored his second touchdown of the game to cut the lead down to 24-21 with four minutes remaining in the game, and the Tiger defense gave the offense one final chance with just under a minute remaining.

They made the most of it, as Aldino unleashed a 44-yard scoring strike to give the Tigers the lead and the win by a final score of 28-24.

The Tigers will head to Nolensville High School next Friday for a chance to continue their season.
