Thursday Night Girls Hoops Recap: Raleigh Leads Monterey To Victory

Monterey 62, Bledsoe County 33

The Monterey Lady Wildcats got their season off to a good start on Thursday with their 62-33 win over Bledsoe County.

Mackenzie Raleigh led the way for Monterey with a game-high 17 points, while Lindsey Wright scored 13 points. Sally Marcum added 10 of her own.

Monterey will be back in action on Friday when they take on Watertown.

Van Buren 65, Oakdale 49

The Van Buren Eaglettes used stout defense to down Oakdale by a final score of 65-49.

Layla Bouldin put together a standout performance with 27 points to lead all scorers, while Emily Allen scored 13 points.

The Eaglettes will be back on the court on Saturday when they travel to Red Boiling Springs.

White County 73, Christian Academy of Knoxville 39

Gracie Dodgen put together her second consecutive game with 23 points in the Warriorettes’ 73-39 win over CAK.

Alaina Stiles and Morgan Quick each scored 11 points, while Nia Powers scored 10 points. Addison Frazier dished out 11 assists while only turning the ball over twice.

White County’s next contest will be on Monday when they take on Wilson Central.

Livingston Academy 48, Independence 15

The Livingston Academy Lady Cats’ stifling defense led them to a 48-15 win over Independence.

After only allowing five points in the first half, the defense held even more impressively under 20 points for the game. Aleah Melton and Keaton Webb each scored 11 points to lead the effort.

The Lady Cats’ next game will be on Saturday when they take on Clarkrange.
