Thursday Night Around UC Sports Nation: York Crushes Clay Co., 96-70

The York Institute Dragons are going to be a difficult match-up for any team they face during the 2020-21 high school basketball season, and they punctuated that fact against the defending Class A State Champions, Thursday night. Nic Smith went off for 31 points, and the Dragons crushed the visiting Clay County Bulldogs, 96-70. The win was the sixth straight for the Dragons (7-1), who host Cumberland County, Friday night. Grant Strong scored 30 points in the loss for Clay County (6-2).

Meanwhile, Hunter Wattenbarger knocked home 24 points, as the Pickett County Bobcats (7-2) rallied from nine points down at the half to beat Livingston Academy, 64-51.
