Three Cross Country Girls Represent Schools As Prgoressive MVP’s

Several schools represented the Upper Cumberland very well throughout the cross country season this year. However, three girls, all juniors, stood out above the rest.

Chloe Ragland of Van Buren County, Evan Welch of White County, and Landri Wilcox of Cookeville all three represent their schools as the Progressive Most Valuable Player for the fall sports season.

All three of the runners competed at the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association Cross Country Championship at Percy Warner Park’s Steeplechase Course in Nashville.

Cookeville’s Landri Wilcox faired the best of the three runners at the state level. Wilcox finished in fourth place overall in the Division One Large School meet. Wilcox finished with an overall time of 18:07.21.

Evan Welch represented White County well at the state meet as she crossed the line in 36th overall place with a time of 20:07.69.

Van Buren County’s Chloe Ragland ran a time of 24:39.91 in the Division One Small School division race. Ragland’s time put her in 57th place out of 0ver 170 runners.
