This Week in UC Hoops: Make-up Games, District Clashes

After digging out from two major snowstorms last week, Upper Cumberland basketball coaches are scrambling to reschedule games, including all-important district games. Several of those games have been rescheduled for this week, making for a busy week of basketball in the area.

Clarkrange may be the busiest of all the area schools, as the Buffaloes and Lady Buffaloes are scheduled to play four games in a five-day stretch (and five in a seven-day period), starting with Tuesday night’s home district games with Pickett County. Clarkrange will then play a makeup district game at home against Red Boiling Springs on Thursday, followed by a non-district home game with Wartburg on Friday. Another home makeup game against Cumberland County will follow on Saturday to wrap up this week, but the Buffaloes and Lady Buffaloes return to the court Monday and Tuesday, to visit Oneida and Gordonsville, respectively.

In other games of note this week, Cookeville will kick off district play at home against Green Hill on Tuesday, while Monterey and Jackson County open the district portion of their respective schedules against each other. Warren County will also open district play, Tuesday night, at Shelbyville, while Van Buren County hosts Whitwell in their district opener.
