The Warren County Pioneers won three games over the course of last week, and Senior C.J. Taylor put his game into another gear.

First, he led the Pioneers to a win over Coffee County on Monday with a career-high 38 points. He followed it up with a 25-point outing against Stone Memorial in a 16-point win, and finally, he tied that career-high with 38 more points in a comeback win over Rhea Couty.

Taylor also led the First Bank First Team for the week ending on Feb.5.

First Bank First Team

Tessa Miller (Stone Memorial): Miller led the Lady Panthers to a big win over Cookeville on Friday, when she posted a dominant double-double with 24 points and 19 rebounds.

Eli Burris (Jackson County): Burris scored 11 points in a win over Red Boiling Springs on Tuesday, but his big game came against Pickett County on Friday when he led the team with 20 points in a big district victory.

Addy Stowers (Clarkrange): The race for District 6-A Freshman of the Year might’ve been clinched this past week, as Stowers had games of 17, 19 and 17 points again in wins over Jackson County, Trousdale County and Gordonsville.

Matthew Sells (Livingston Academy): Sells led all scorers with 22 points against Macon County, and he added 27 points in a win over Watertown.

Shayla Wood (Pickett County): Wood played a big role in scoring the ball for the Lady Bobcats last week, as she scored 22 points against Clay County on Tuesday and 14 points in a win over Jackson County on Friday.

Hunter Wattenbarger (Pickett County): Staying in Byrdstown, Wattenbarger has had to take on a larger scoring role for the Bobcats due to a recent injury to John Parker Reagan and Zach Amonett’s recent illnesses. He’s responded in a big way, as he scored 27 points against Clay County and 30 against Jackson County.

Briley Burchett (Clay County): This has to be a welcome site for Clay County fans, as Burchett seems like she’s kicked her game into high gear right as we prepare for postseason play. She scored 21 points against Red Boiling Springs and 22 points against Macon County.
