Summer Rewind: The Backbone: DeKalb Co. Football’s Alley Beth Cook

As the summer rolls on, UCSN takes a back at the 2021-22 school year and sport seasons. In this series, we find our most viewed video from each school this year, and reflect on the time of the school sports calendar from when the video was first posted.

Today, we rewind on the Pickett County High School Lady Bobcats basketball team. Specifically, then-senior manager Alley Beth Cook.

When this video was posted, the Tigers’ season had come to a close in the second round of the Class 4A State Playoffs, and Cook had completed her final season as a football manager.

FROM DECEMBER 13th, 2021:

The Backbone is a segment that highlights a part of every high school team that doesn’t always get to see the spotlight – the support staff. Managers, bookkeepers, trainers, and more all come together so that teams can play their game.

In this edition, we have the manager for the DeKalb Co. Tigers Football Team – senior Alley Beth Cook. Cook breaks down what goes into being a football manager, her gameday routine, why she started managing, and more.
