Strong, Ashlock Post Double-Doubles In Win Over Monterey

The Clay County Bulldogs defeated the Monterey Wildcats by a final score of 63-50 on Tuesday.

The two teams remained close all night long, but the Bulldogs won each quarter to take home the 13-point win.

Grant Strong led the way for the Bulldogs, as he posted a double-double of 23 points and 12 rebounds. Senior Jake Ashlock played a pivotal role as well, as he had 13 points and 11 rebounds of his own.

Mason Sharp added 13 for Clay County.

Payton West led all scorers with 24 points for Monterey.

The Bulldogs’ next matchup will be at East Robertson on Dec. 21, while Monterey will take part in the Nera White Christmas Tournament on Dec. 26.
