Strong, Ashlock Each Post Double-Doubles, Bulldogs Defeat Eagleville

The Clay County Bulldogs are headed to the Glass House in Murfreesboro after defeating Eagleville by a final score of 61-43 on Monday.

After trailing 12-8 at the end of one, the Bulldogs found more success on offense in the second, and took a 25-23 lead into the break.

The game remained a one-possession game at the end of three, and the fourth saw the Bulldog defense lock up Eagleville. They held the home team to just eight points en route to taking home a 61-43 win and a berth in the State Tournament.

Jake Ashlock led the way with a 23-point, 14-rebound double-double, and Grant Strong added 15 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double of his own. Mason Sharp scored 11 points.

Ryley McClaran led Eagleville with 18 points.

The Bulldogs will find out their fate for the State Tournament on Tuesday afternoon.
