Strong 4th Quarter Pushes Wildcat Football Past White Co

It took a 20 point fourth quarter from, the seventh ranked, Livingston Academy Wildcats (8-0), to defeat the White County Warriors (4-3) 27-12.

White County benefited off of a short field and took an early 6-0, lead after Livingston turned the ball over on downs on their first possession. Kade Clark took a direct snap behind the right tackle into the endzone.

Livingston Academy’s Raven Carpenter picked off Sedryk Leftwich on the following series on third and 10.

Carpenter hauled in a one handed 27 yard touchdown pass from senior quarterback Will McDonald on the following drive to give the Wildcats a 7-6 edge.

White County kicker Will Cheeks connected on field goals from 48 and 45 yards to end the half. Cheeks field goals gave the Warriors a 12-7 halftime lead.

After a scoreless third quarter Kaleb Robinson capped off a 16 play 80-yard drive with a 14 yard touchdown drive. McDonald’s two point conversion pass fell incomplete. Livingston Academy owned a 13-12 advantage early in the fourth

McDonald connected with Aubry Hollars for an 11-yard touchdown pass on Livingstons ensuing series.

Wesley Smith hauled in McDonalds third touchdown pass of the night, from 48 yards out, to give Livingston the 27-12 final score.

The Wildcats eventually wore down White County on defense with over 34 minutes in time of possession.

McDonald finished the night 21/25 for 169 yards and three touchdowns. Leftwich completed 13/20 passes for 106 yards and two interceptions.

Yards were hard to come by for White County skill players. Leading rusher on the season Will Griggs rushed for 23 yards on four carries and caught four passes for 41 yards. Jayden Richmond  had five carries for 13 yards and one catch for 13 yards as well.

Robinson lead the way for Livingston Academy with 24 carries for 136 yards and a touchdown.

Carpenter, Hollars, and Smith all caught touchdown passes from McDonald.

This Thursday White County takes on Clay County in Sparta and the seventh ranked Wildcats are on a bye week.
