Strong 2nd and 3rd Lead Lady Cavaliers Past Cleveland

The Cookeville Cavaliers girls basketball team picked up a big win against region foe Cleveland, Tuesday night with a 65 to 62 road victory.

The Lady Cavs fell behind in the first quarter 24 to 17. Defensively Cookeville held Cleveland to eight second quarter points and 10 third quarter points to take a 47 to 42 lead into the fourth quarter.

KK Graves and Liv Shipman each scored a game high 17 points each. Shipman knocked down four threes while Graves went seven of nine from the free throw line.

The win Tuesday night improves Cookeville’s record to 14-4 on the season with their first district game this Friday night against White County.
