Second Quarter Woes Too Much To Over Come For Eagles

The Van Buren County Eagles boys basketball team dropped a close game to Gordonsville, Monday night, 61 to 55 on the road.

Van Buren County struggled to make up for a second quarter that they scored only six points in. Gordonsville shot and hit more free throws than Van Buren County did throughout the game.

Gordonsville connected on 18 of 23 attempts while the Eagles hit 11 of their 14 tries. The game behind the three point line was fairly even as Gordosnville hit seven shots from deep and Van Buren County hit six.

Jacob Guy scored a game high 15 points for Van Buren County. Austin Hodges added 12 points of his own.

Van Buren County will host Hardy Memorial tomorrow in Spencer. The loss drops Van Buren County’s overall record to 6-14, 3-0.
