The Clay County Bulldogs defeated Jackson County in Gainesboro on Tuesday by a final score of 76-47.
After taking a 14-8 lead after the first, Clay dominated the second quarter and took a 39-14 lead into half.
The Blue Devils experienced a little more offensive success with 33 second-half points, but it wouldn’t be enough and Clay won by a final score of 76-47.
Grant Strong led all scorers with 21 points, while Mason Sharp scored 13 for the Bulldogs. Jeff Spivey added 11, and Gunnar Silk scored 10 points.
Jackson County was led by Ramon Ceuvas’ 14 points, and Eli Burris added 10 points.
Clay will be back in action on Jan. 10 when they take on Pickett County, while Jackson County will play Red Boiling Springs.
