Region Play Opens Around The Upper Cumberland In Week Three

Region play is finally here. Here’s a look at all the matchups happening tonight.

Dekalb County and Macon County got the Thursday game this week with the Tigers from Lafayette winning 21-13 on the road in Smithville. Dekalb County falls to 2-1 (0-1) and Macon County improves to 3-0 (1-0).

White County (2-0) goes on the road to Station Camp (2-0). The Warriors fell in last year’s ballgame 14-10. The Bison have put up 71 points through two games of action.

The Monterey Wildcats (2-0) travel to Jamestown to take on the York Institute Dragons (1-1). Wildcats have put up 83 points in their two wins while the Dragons got their first win last week against Jackson County. We’ll have live coverage of the game starting at 6:50 on Sports Radio 104.7.

Cookeville (1-1) heads down I-40 to Lebanon (2-0) to battle the Blue Devils. It was just a one score game a year ago in favor of the Blue Devils. Lebanon has put up 92 points in their two wins this season. Live coverage of the game can be heard on News Talk 94.1 beginning at 6:45.

Our third broadcast game of the evening comes from Crossville as the Stone Memorial Panthers (2-0) host the Livingston Academy Wildcats (0-2). Panthers won big in last year’s match up and the Wildcats hope to keep their offensive momentum going against a solid Panthers club. Pregame coverage begins at 6:30 on 101.9/AM 920 WLIV.

The only other region action tonight happens in Baxter as Upperman (2-0) hosts Cumberland County (0-2).

Elsewhere in the UC, Jackson County (0-2) hosts Sale Creek (0-1) as both teams look for their first win. Warren County (0-2) travels to Memphis to take on Ridgeway (0-2) in a non-region game. Clay County is on a bye this week.

For  full recap with scores and interviews from coaches and players, tune in to the High School Playbook tomorrow morning at 9:00 on Rock 93-7.
