Quarantine and Answer: Eaglettes Volleyball Sarah Hickerson
Social Distancing is a phrase that will forever be a part of our vocabulary as we move forward. We are going to do a series of questions and answers with coaches across UC Sports Nation and how they cope with this unique time, not only in America but in the World.
Our next coach in the series is Sarah Hickerson. Hickerson is the head volleyball coach for the Eaglettes.
Question:
What does a typical day in quarantine look like for you right now?
Answer:
Not much. Just setting at home.
Question:
What is one thing you’ll look forward to doing the most when the quarantine and social distancing ends?
Answer:
Be able to start some open gyms and just get out and see my middle school girls that are coming up. They didn’t get to finish their season.
Question:
Have you read anything interesting lately?
Answer:
I have been researching things about volleyball right now trying to prepare as much as possible for this next season. I’ve been reading the Bible, to be honest and that’s about it.
Question:
Have you started cooking at home more now during the quarantine?
Answer:
I cook usually every night. For the most part I have just kept it simple. Not really tried anything unusual. My husband has been gone all this week because of the tornadoes (in Sparta).
I’ve cooked for him to eat around 10 or 11 o’clock each night.
Question:
What’s a good TV or Netflix show you’ve watched recently?
Answer:
I try and not to watch to much TV.
Question:
Are you getting up and getting dressed or lounging around in your PJ’s for most of the day?
Answer:
I’ve still been trying to get up and do the same things. I have slept in a day or so with everything going on in the world. I try and still get up and keep the routine. Get up, have my coffee, and kind of take it easy in the morning.
Question:
What’s a good movie you have seen lately?
Answer:
I have not.
Question:
What kind of music is playing on your iTunes right now?
Answer:
I usually put it on iHeartRadio and listen to K Love.
Question:
Have you been able to do anything memorable as a family during this time of quarantine?
Answer:
I’ve got to hang out with my niece and nephew more because of the jobs their parents have. They have got to spend a lot of time with us. That has been wonderful because I enjoy my family time.
