Quarantine and Answer: Blue Devils Football Sean Loftis
Social Distancing is a phrase that will forever be a part of our vocabulary as we move forward. We are going to do a series of questions and answers with coaches across UC Sports Nation and how they cope with this unique time, not only in America but in the World.
Our next coach in the series is Jackson County head football coach Sean Loftis.
Question:
Watched a good movie lately?
Answer:
The last movie I watched was Extraction on Netflix.
Question:
Watched a good TV Show or Documentary?
Answer:
El Chapo was at the start of the quarantine, but I am currently watching Designated Survivor and of course the Michael Jordan documentary “The Last Dance”
Question:
What’s something fun you’ve done with family over this down time?
Answer:
Colt and I decided to buy the wood and build a raised garden. We then planted some of our favorite vegetables, so that has been something to occupy our time.
He also wanted to learn how to mow the lawn, so after a couple of lessons he is able to mow on his own (for the most part). To stay in touch with my parents and siblings we get on Zoom at least twice a week to catch up.

What kind of music are you listening to right now?
Answer:
Country or 80s Rock
Question:
Are you in your PJ’s all day or trying to get in more professional clothes?
Answer:
I still wear my usual school attire which consists of a T-shirt and ball shorts
Question:
If you don’t workout or continued to work out?
Answer:
Well, when this all started I was doing a good job losing weight by following a Keto diet. However, being at home all the time now I have started to snack more and I have not been following Keto as much. I have gained most of the weight back that I had lost. We will occasionally go for a walk as a family but to answer your question… No, I have not been working out.
Question:
Have you started cooking or perfected some of your go too’s
Answer:
My wife and I both really enjoy cooking, so we have both fixed our go-to meals at least once already during the quarantine. My wife Leslies is Shrimp-n-Grits and mine is smoked chicken wings on my Big Green Egg.
Question:
What does a typical day in quarantine look like for you?
Answer:
I usually fix breakfast for us, and then make sure Colt is working on his school work. I’ve been spending some time working on football stuff. Depending on the weather, if it’s nice I will be doing something outside (mowing, gardening, watching Colt play basketball or we throw baseballs) If it’s raining or cold, I have been watching Netflix or watching online football clinics.
Question:
Have you read a good book lately?
Answer:
I will get on Twitter on read articles sometimes, but I am not and have never been much of a book reader. I’ve been on zoom watching some football clinics.
Question:
What’s the first thing you’re going to do or the first place you want to go after the quarantine is over?
Answer:
Obviously, I am anxious to get back with my team and see my players…But the First place I’ll go is probably to my parents’ house for my mom’s fried chicken!
