Panthers Season Ends In Hard Fought Game Against Bradly

Stone Memorial’s boys basketball team fell saw their season come to an end Saturday night as they lost to Bradley Central, 65 to 57 in Cleveland.

The Panthers dug themselves a 12-point first half hole as they trailed at the break 33 to 21. Stone Memorial erupted for 22 third quarter points to closed the gap to four at the end of the third quarter 43 to 47.

“We got down as many as 14 points in the third quarter,” Capps said. “We took the lead multiple times in the third and early in fourth. I’m really proud of my team.”

Stone Memorial connected on eight of their 10 free throws and the Panthers hit five shots from behind the three point line.

Chris Coudriet led the Panthers in points with 16. Jack Eldridge added 13 points of his own and Hunter Wattenbarger rounded out the double digit scorers with 10 points.

Stone Memorial finishes the season with an overall record of 17-13 and 4-4 in District Six, Triple A play. Bradley Central advances to the region semi-final game Tuesday night, against White County, in Sparta.
