Meigs County Community Supports Upperman In Wake Of Tornado
Saturday night the Upperman Lady Bees battled the Meigs County Lady Tigers to a 44 to 42 double overtime victory.
Throughout the game Meigs County took up donations to send back with the Lady Bees to the Baxter/Cookeville/Putnam County area. The kind and generous people of Meigs county sent back over $2,000 with Upperman.
In conjunction with the money collected Meigs County sent home gift baskets with the three players who lost their homes during Tuesday mornings tornado.
Upperman basketball said via their twitter page, “Meigs County, we will NEVER forget what you did for us tonight. Your kindness, selflessness, and care means more to us than you will ever know.”
the Lady Bees’ will play Gatlinburg-Pittman on Wednesday in the quarter finals of the state tournament in Murfreesboro at the Murphy Center at 4:30 P.M.
