The York Institute Dragons earned the Region 4AA Championship after defeating the Upperman Bees by a final score of 62-57.
This game, much like the District Championship, saw the Dragons get off to a hot start. The difference this time around was that York sustained their offense throughout much of the first half, and it saw them go into the locker room at half with a 37-28 lead.
Upperman out-scored York by a 29-25 tally in the second half, but it wouldn’t be enough to complete the comeback for the Bees.
Roger Meadows and Noah Smith tied for game-high honors with 18 points each, while Nic Smith scored 13 points. Riley Cooper added 11 of his own.
Collin Gore led Upperman with 18 points, and Isaiah Allen scored 14. Alex Rush contributed 10 points.
York will host Tyner on Monday, while Upperman will hit the road to take on Howard.
