LA Volleyball Helps First Baptist With Operation: Christmas Child

The Livingston Lady Cats volleyball team have experienced an excellent season that has seen them make it to the State Tournament.

That run was in jeopardy however, when they found out at the start of the season that their home court wouldn’t be available due to construction. The process took longer than they originally thought it would, and they were soon faced with a tough predicament of finding somewhere to host their substate match.

Enter Livingston First Baptist Church. After allowing the Lady Cats to use their gym for all of their home matches, they decided to allow them to host their substate match there, pending approval from TSSAA.

Though it was approved and the Lady Cats prevailed over Hixson to make it to State, it came at the cost of pushing back the church’s preparation for their annual Operation: Christmas Child to accommodate the schedule.

Knowing this, Head Coach Christie Jenkins used her team’s free time on Friday morning to pay back the good will to the church.

See what Jenkins and senior Summer Spears had to say about their time and relationship with the church in the video above.
