Livingston Academy’s Basketball Games with MTCS Canceled

Due to a scheduling miscommunication, the Livingston Academy boys’ and girls’ basketball teams will not be playing Middle Tennessee Christian School of Murfreesboro, this season. The first of two scheduled meetings was set for this Saturday, December 18, in Murfreesboro. The two teams were also scheduled to meet in Livingston on January 22.

According to MTCS Athletic Director Jason Piercey, one of the MTCS coaches had reached out to Livingston Academy to schedule games for their fifth and sixth grade teams, and Livingston Academy apparently misunderstood, thinking the games were meant for the high school team. Piercey stated once he noticed on the TSSAA portal that Livingston had the games entered as high school games, MTCS reached out to Livingston Academy and learned the original text, sent from a MTCS coach to a Livingston Academy coach, had been misread.

Livingston Academy is scheduled to travel to Macon County tonight (Tuesday) to open the district portion of their schedule, before hosting Pickett County on Thursday night. The Wildcats and Lady ‘Cats will travel to East Tennessee for a pair of games, next Monday and Tuesday. Livingston will play Loudon on Monday at 1:30 p.m. Central time, and Meigs County, Tuesday, at 10:30 a.m. Both doubleheaders are scheduled to be played at Loudon High School.
