Lady Dragons Soccer Strolls Through Region Semi Finals

The York Institute girls soccer team defeated East Robertson 4-0 Tuesday night in Jamestown in their region semi final matchup.

“It went fantastic,” York head coach Allison Stucker said. “I could’t have asked it to have gone any better. The girls played with so much heart and dedication. I am really proud of them.”

McKenzie Brannon scored two goals for York in the win. Kaylea Fields scored one goal and had an assist. Ana Edmondson also scored a goal.

With the victory York will host the winner of Smith County and Merrol Hyde at 6 P.M. in Jamestown on Thursday night for the region championship.

“If they keep playing with the momentum and heart that they have been playing with they are going to do a fantastic job (Thursday),” Stucker said. “My girls are a well oiled machine. They function well together. They have a tight bond and I think it is showing through.”
