Lady Cavs Softball Downs Lebanon In High-Scoring Affair

The Cookeville Lady Cavs took down Lebanon on the road on Thursday by a final score of 12-9.

Cookeville opened the scoring with a five-run third inning, and they added to that lead with two more runs in the fourth inning.

Lebanon answered with single runs in the third, fourth and fifth inning, but the Lady Cavs built the lead further with three runs in the sixth to make the score 10-3.

Lebanon wasn’t finished however, as they scored four runs in the bottom half to cut that deficit to 10-7. The Lady Cavs added two more runs in the seventh, and they held on from there to win by a 12-9 count.

Bailey Turnbow led the onslaught for the Lady Cavs, as she hit two home runs and drove in six runs. Ryleigh Boyett drove in two runs, while Blair Cherry, Gwen Rodriguez and Kaley Crabtree each drove in a run of their own.

The Lady Cavs will be back in action on Mar. 23 at Livingston Academy.
