Lady Cavs Golf Wins Cleveland Tournament, Boys Finish 3rd

The Cookeville Lady Cavs had a successful third match of the season, as they finished first overall in Cleveland’s Tournament on Monday with an overall team score of 162.

They finished eight strokes ahead of Cleveland (170), and Signal Mountain finished in third place with a score of 197.

Junior Daniella Pryor shot a team-best 79, while fellow Junior Lexus Julian shot an 83. Freshman Addison Burnette shot a 122, but it was not factored into the team score.

On the boys side of the tournament, the Cavaliers finished in third overall with a final score of 326. This put them just two strokes behind Walker Valley (324), and 14 strokes behind first-place East Hamilton (312).

Senior Luke Jenkins finished in first-place individually with a one-under par 71, and he won a playoff hole to finish atop the field. Juniors Jakob Smith and Joseph Agee finished with an 80 and an 82, respectively, while fellow Junior Samuel Montgomery shot a 93.

Senior Caleb Scott shot a 95, but it wasn’t factored into the team’s score.

The Cavaliers and Lady Cavs will be back in action on Thursday, when they host Cumberland County.
