Lady Cavs Edge Out York In Overtime

The Lady Cavaliers and York Dragonettes needed extra time to decide a winner, Tuesday night in Cookeville.

Cookeville edged out York by four to win 59 to 55.

Cookeville went into halftime with a 26 to 15 lead but saw their lead wither away in the second half.

York scored 16 points in the third and fourth quarters to erase that halftime deficit.

York’s Haylee Johnson led all scorers with 23 points. Johnson hit eight of her 12 free throw attempts and she also hit three, three pointers.

Ellie Leffew added 17 points for the Dragonettes and Sage Smith scored 10 points.

Cookeville’s KK Graves scored a team high 21 points. Katie Dunaway contributed 13 points and Jordan Gillies scored 12 points.

York will play again this Thrsday night against Oneida in Jamestown at 6 P.M.

The Lady Cavaliers will not play again until this Saturday against East Hamilton at 6 P.M.
