Lady Cavs Defeat York In Jamestown

The Cookeville Lady Cavs traveled to Jamestown on Tuesday to take on the York Institute Dragonettes, and a big third quarter led Cookeville to a 50-39 victory.

After the game stood at 19-16 in favor of York, Cookeville came out in the third and used a 15-5 advantage to take a seven-point lead into the fourth.

The Lady Cavs out-scored York 19-15 in the fourth quarter, and after the final buzzer sounded, the Lady Cavs left with a victory by a final score of 50-39.

Each team only had one player each finish in double figures, as KK Graves led all scorers with 22 points.

Haylee Johnson led the Dragonettes with 20 points on 12-13 shooting from the free-throw line.

Cookeville’s next game will be against Cleveland on Dec. 7, while York will hit the road to take on DeKalb County on Dec. 6.
