Lady Bulldogs Lock Down Monterey In Celina

The Clay County Lady Bulldogs defeated the Monterey Lady Wildcats by a final score of 62-44.

Clay won each quarter, with the second proving to be the most crucial. The Lady Bulldogs led Monterey to just nine points in the quarter, and took a 32-20 into halftime.

The Lady Bulldogs won the second half by six points, en route to a 62-44 victory.

Briley Burchett led the way in scoring with 15 points, while Eliza Jenkins added 12 points and four steals.  Katie Arms finished with 11 points, and Rachel Copass scored nine.

On Monterey’s side, Lindsey Wright led the team with 15 points and Anna Hudson added 13.

Clay’s next game will be on Dec. 21 at East Robertson, while Monterey will be off until after Christmas when they take the court for the Nera White Christmas Tournament.
