Lady Bulldog Defense Too Much For Jackson Co

The Clay County Lady Bulldogs clamped down on defense on Tuesday night in Gainesboro, and it led to a 65-43 win over Jackson County.

The second quarter proved to be another difference-maker, as Clay out-scored Jackson County by a 27-13 count. This added up to a 41-22 advantage for the Lady Bulldogs at halftime.

This lead allowed Clay to coast in the second half, and they won by final score of 65-43.

Rachel Copass and Katie Arms tied for team-high honors with 19 points apiece, while Eliza Jenkins scored 10 points.

For Jackson County, Abigail Poston led the way with nine points. Erika Davidson and Nikki Ragland each added eight points for the Lady Blue Devils.

Up next for Clay County will be Pickett County on Jan. 10, while Jackson will at Red Boiling Springs the same day.
