Lady Buffaloes Down Pickett Co Again, This Time For Region

The Clarkrange Lady Buffaloes beat Pickett County, for the fourth time this season, in the region championship game 63 to 47, Wednesday night at Livingston Academy.

The Lady Bobcats struggled offensively in the second and third quarters as they scored 17 total points in those middle two quarters. Clarkrange would score 29 points over the middle two quarters of the contest.

As a team the Lady Buffaloes hit 14 of their 16 free throw attempts as Pickett County hit 17 of their 21 tries on the night.

Clarkrange did have an advantage from behind the three point line as they connected on nine shots from downtown, compared to only four made three’s from Pickett County.

Kaylie Monday led all scorers with 19 points. Kassie Monday added in 17 points of her own. Makenzie Pile, first player off the bench for Clarkrange, added in 12 points to round out the double digit scorers for Clarkrange. Pile drained eight of her nine free throw tries on the night.

Abbi Bilbrey was the lone Lady Bobcat in double figures with 16 points. Kyndal Ludick and Shyla Wood each added in seven point apiece.

Clarkrange will host Moore County Saturday night at 7 P.M. in Fentress County in the State Sectionals. Moore County has an overall record of 20-14, 6-4.

Pickett County will travel to Eagleville, in Rutherford County, Saturday night for their State Sectional matchup at 7 P.M. Saturday night. Eagleville is now 18-15, 6-4.
