Lady Bobcats Punch Ticket To State With OT Win On Road

Pickett County’s girls basketball team saw a 28 to 24 first half lead slip away as Eagleville forced the game to overtime. The Lady Bobcats found themselves in a 38 all tie at the end of regulation. Pickett County outscored Eagleville seven to four in extra time for the 45 to 42 sectional victory.

The Lady Bobcats owned a decisive advantage behind the three point line against Eagleville. Eagleville hit only three shots from down town as Pickett County drained eight shots from deep.

Kyndal Ludick and Abbi Bilbrey each scored a team high 14 points for Pickett County. 12 of Ludick’s 14 came off of four made three’s.

Neither team could find much of an advantage at the free throw line on the night. Pickett County hit 11 of their 17 tries and Eagleville connected on 13 of their 20 shots.

The state tournament begins March 12th at the Murphy Center in Murfreesboro. The first game is set for 1:15 P.M.

The matchups for Thursday’s games have yet to be determined.
