Lady Blue Devils Coach Jim Brown to be Inducted into the TSSAA Hall of Fame

Jackson County Lady Blue Devils’ basketball coach Jim Brown is being recognized for his outstanding coaching career. On Wednesday, the TSSAA announced Coach Brown as one of eleven inductees into the 2022 Hall of Fame class. The induction ceremony will take place during the annual TSSAA Hall of Fame luncheon at the Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center in Murfreesboro on Saturday, April 2.

Brown was named head coach of the Jackson County Lady Blue Devils back in 1992, and has accumulated more than 600 wins during his tenure. Brown has led the program to a total of 13 State Tournament appearances, seven State Championships and four runner-up finishes. Jackson County went to five consecutive State Tournaments under Brown from 1999-2003, finishing as State runner-up in ’99, then winning four straight Championships from 2000-03. Brown’s teams also captured the State crown in 2008, 2010, and 2013.

In addition to his success at State, Brown’s Lady Blue Devil teams have captured 14 District Championships and nine Region Championships. He has coached five Miss Basketball winners and 25 players who continued their playing careers on the collegiate level. Brown was also named to the Basketball Coaches Association of Tennessee Hall of Fame back in 2019.

While coaching the Lady Blue Devils, Brown also coached the Jackson County Middle School program for many years during his tenure, which helped build the dynasty on the high school level. Prior to Brown’s arrival as head coach, the JCHS girls’ program had played in five State Tournaments, winning one title in 1973.
