Lady Bees Pulls Away From Gatlinburg-Pittman In Second Half

After the first quarter here in Murfreesboro the Lady Bees’ trail Gatlinburg-Pittman 11 to 9. Regan Hurst leads the Lady Bees’ in points right now with four points.

The Lady Bees turned things around in the second quarter in both ends of the floor. Defensively, Upperman allowed only four, second quarter points.

On the offensive end of the floor Upperman dropped in 14 points in the second quarter. Abigail Johnson and Hurst lead the Lady Bees’ with eight points each.

The offenses were the story in the third quarter as Upperman outscored Gatlinburg-Pittman 17 to 16. The Lady Bees’ hold a 40-31 lead as the fourth and final quarter begins.

Upperman held off Gatlinburg-Pittman in the fourth quarter by a final score of 59 to 42. Hurst led all scorers with 21 points. Johnson, off, the bench dropped in 16 points of her own.

Upperman hit 22 of their 27 free throw attempts against eight out of 13 tries for Gatlinburg-Pittman. Neither team shot well from behind the arch as Upperman hit three out of their eight three point tries, while Gatlinburg-Pittman hit only two of their 20 tries from deep.

Upperman will play the winner of Grainger and Westview Friday at 1:15 in the Glass House in Murfreesboro.
