Lady Bees Fall Short Against Macon Co In Defensive Battle

The Upperman Lady Bees found themselves in the lead early in the Region 4AA Championship against Macon County, but fell just short by a final score of 37-28.

Leading 9-5 after the first quarter, they limited Macon to just nine second-quarter points, but only managed four points themselves, and the Lady Bees went into half trailing 14-13.

The second half saw the Tigerettes knock down enough open shots to build a lead, and the Lady Bees just couldn’t get enough offense going to make a comeback. when all was said and done, it was the Tigerettes who walked away with a 37-28 victory.

Reagan Hurst led Upperman with 12 points, while Ashland McClellan scored eight. Brooklyn Crouch added six points.

The Lady Bees will begin action in the Substate Sectionals with a game against Meigs County on the road on Saturday.
