LA And Bees Sit One And Two In Stone Steel Cup Fall Standings

Livingston Academy and Upperman are the top two teams in the Stone Steel Cup race after the conclusion of the fall sports schedule.

Both the Bees and the Wildcats saw tremendous success on the gridiron this past fall. Upperman saw their boys golf team win the district and region championships and they had an individual girl golfer qualify for the state tournament also.

“We had a wonderful fall,” Upperman director Greg Wilson said. ” It’s just amazing how a group of kids get together and work together for a common cause and follow the leads of our coaches”

Livingston Academy completed a perfect 10-0 regular season. The Wildcats won their district championship and their first round playoff game against Maplewood 27-8. LA also had three players selected to the All-State teams.

The Bees football program finished the regular season 9-1, with there only loss in the regular season coming form 3A Livingston Academy. Upperman won another region championship with a perfect 5-0 region record.

“We have had good success,” Wilson said. “We have a great bunch of coaches and a great bunch of kids. You put those two together and we have had some great success.”

Upperman saw 13 players earn post season honors along with two all state selections.

Livingston Academy’s volleyball team help up their end of the of the fall sports season as well. The Lady Cats earned a district and region championship to go along with a sub-state victory and state tournament appearance.

After the fall sports tabulation Livingston Academy holds a slim lead of 94 total fall sports points to 82 fall sport points from Upperman.

The final standings will be release next Tuesday afternoon. Those standings will include the previous fall sports standing with the additions of bout boys and girls basketball point totals.
