Johnson, Smith Among Dragons Earning All-District Recongition

The York Institute Dragons and Dragonettes were each well-represented in the District 8AA awards, as Haylee Johnson, Nic Smith and Riley Cooper were all named to the All-District First Teams.

Johnson was also named to the Defensive Team.

Sophomore Gabby Beaty was named to the All-District Second Team for the Dragonettes, while Ellie Leffew made the Third Team.

Sage Smith and Mikaela Reagan each earned Honorable Mentions.

For the boys, Smith was also named to the Defensive Team, while Head Coach Roy Whited was named Co-Coach of the Year.

Jon Heddings earned a spot on the All-District Second Team, while Myles Leffew and Bryson Bilbrey were given Honorable Mentions. The latter two were also named Co-Freshman of the Year, and Zach Byrd was named to the All-Freshman Team.
