Johnson Scores 25, Dragonettes Take Down Cannon County

The York Institute Dragonettes defeated Cannon County on Monday by a final score of 59-51.

York took a 15-9 lead after the first quarter, though Cannon battled back to cut the deficit down to 23-20 at halftime.

The Dragonettes took control of the game in the third, where they manufactured a 38-30 lead heading into the final frame. While they gave up 21 points, York held serve and walked away with a 59-51 victory.

Haylee Johnson led the Dragonettes on offense, as she scored a game-high 25 points. Gabby Beaty added 12 of her own.

York will be back on the court when they host the Sergeant York Christmas Invitational beginning on Jan. 2.
