Jets Falter Home Opener To Scott Co

Cumberland County lost their season opener to Scott County 20-12 Friday night in Crossville. Friday night’s game was also the debut of first year head coach Noah Repesky.

Cumberland County struck first and held a 6-0 lead at halftime. Reece Crockett ripped off a 65 yard touchdown run in the first quarter. By the end of the third quarter Scott County had scored a touchdown and converted a two point try to take a 6-8 lead into the fourth quarter.

Through the air Braden Tollett went 6-14 for 68-yards with one touchdown and one interception. Tollett also carried the ball seven times for 13-yards.

Tollett connected with Treven McGhee on an 18-yard touchdown pass early in the fourth quarter to take a 12 to 8 lead.

Scott County scored two unanswered touchdowns in the fourth quarter to take control of the game and the final score of 20-12.

The Jets out gained Scott County 237 to 168.Cumberland County (0-1) is currently scheduled to take on White County, Friday night in Sparta. White County missed their first game against Cannon  County due to Covid.
