Jackson Co. Football Falls Short Against East Robertson

The Jackson County Blue Devils (2-3) lost their second region game on Friday against East Robertson by a score of 14-7.

Wid Robbins opened the scoring in the third quarter, when he found Jacob Calvin on a 32-yard, halfback pass to put the Blue Devils up 7-0.

Taylor Groves of East Robertson answered that touchdown with one of his own, as he took the ball 51 yards to the house to tie the game. Groves gave his team the lead on his game-winning, six-yard run that put the score at its final count of 14-7.

Groves finished the night with 119 yards and two touchdowns on eight carries to lead the way for East Robertson.

Robbins led the way for Jackson County, as he finished with 57 yards on 19 carries. Quarterback Eli Burris finished 12-25 passing for 83 yards.

Jackson County hits the road next week to take on Monterey at 7 P.M.
