Hurst Named District MVP Amid Slew Of Lady Bees, Bees’ Awards

Upperman Senior and Class AA Miss Basketball Finalist Reagan Hurst was named the District 8AA Player of the Year on Friday, just one of many recognitions for the Lady Bees.

Hurst was also named to the All-District Defensive Team.

Head Coach Dana McWilliams was named the coach of the year after leading the Lady Bees to a 26-1 record and a 13-1 record in district play.

Junior Brooklyn Crouch was named to the All-District First Team, and for the second season in a row, she was named the Defensive Player of the Year.

Senior Torie Brooks and Junior Aiyana Levy were each named to the All-District Second Team, and Sophomore Abigail Johnson made the All-District Third Team. Anna Grace McClain and Jayla Cobb were each given All-District Honorable Mention nods.

On the boys side of things, Senior Alex Rush was named the District 8AA Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year.

Head Coach Bobby McWilliams was also named the Coach of the Year.

Fellow Senior Collin Gore made the All-District First Team and the Defensive Team.

Senior Jace McWilliams was honored with an All-District Second Team nod, while Senior Jaxon Fox was named to the Third Team.

A.J. Nash was an All-District Honorable Mention.
