Livingston Academy Senior Goalkeeper Tori Hinds led the Lady Cats into the Region Tournament to start last week, and by the end of it, they had a berth in the State Tournament.

She led a stellar defensive effort that ended in a 2-0 win over Scott County, a game in which she recorded 15 saves. Hinds followed up with a one-goal performance to lead LA to their first Region Championship in 20 years over Kingston.

Finally, she notched 16 saves to lead the Lady Cats over McMinn Central by a final score of 1-0.

This week, she leads the First Bank First Team for the week ending on Oct.23

First Bank First Team – Week of October 23

Lilly Copeland (Livingston Academy): Copeland recorded three of the biggest goals of her career last week, the final of which was the only score in a 1-0 Substate win over McMinn Central. She also recorded goals against Scott County and Kingston.

Audrey Birdwell (Cookeville): Birdwell notched a hat trick in Tuesday’s 6-0 Region Tournament win over Walker Valley. The three goals paced the team, and led them directly into the Region Championship. Though the Lady Cavs fell 3-1, Birdwell was the only Cookeville player to find the back of the net.

Jena Harris (Livingston Academy): Harris also played lights out for the Lady Cats, as she scored two goals in last week’s games. She scored the second goal to match Copeland’s in the win over Scott County, and she provided some insurance against Kingston with their third goal of the game late.

Dylan Anderson (Pickett County): Anderson accrued 225 yards of offense in a tough 28-18 loss to Red Boiling Springs on Friday. Anderson also accounted for seven tackles and two touchdowns.

Hunter Vick (Pickett County): Vick was Anderson’s main target on offense, as he put up 69 rushing yards and 41 receiving yards to go with a touchdown. Vick was also a solid presence on defense with eight tackles.

Wade Coons (Clay County): In a tough 14-7 overtime loss to Monterey, Coons led a tremendous defensive effort for the Bulldogs. He recorded a team-high 12 tackles and recovered a fumble in the game.

Bryant Carter (Stone Memorial): Carter put up 313 yards of total offense to lead Stone Memorial over Smith County. He ran the ball 12 times for 141 yards and two touchdowns, while passing for 172 yards and a touchdown through the air.
