Golf: Thursday Recap

White County and Warren County competed in a two team match Thursday afternoon at the Sparta Country Club. The Warriors topped the Pioneers with a combined score of 289 to 369.

White County’s Jarrett Glass finished with a low round of 70. Teammates Tyson Welch, Trey Crockett, and Parker Whited all shot 73 on the day. Warren County did not field a girls team this season. Morgan Quick and Addie Selby shot a 9 hole score of 41 and 54 respectively for the White County Girls team.

Clay County played host to Pickett County and York Institute golf teams Thursday afternoon. For the boys Clay and York tied with a combined score of 188. Picket County seniors Blake Morell and Jason Garrett both finished with 55’s. The York girls team finished seven strokes ahead of Clay County girls with a final score of 105 to 112.

At Bear Trace in Crossville Stone Memorial hosted Cookeville and Livingston Thursday afternoon. The Lady Cavaliers edged out the Lady Wildcats with a two girl combined score of 92 to 104. Cookeville golfer Hope Homar shot a 41. Homar’s score was the low total for all the girls.

The Cookeville tallied a combined score of 333 to bring home a the victory. Livingston Academy Finished second with a score of 365 and Stone Memorial finished third with a total of 384. Livingston golfer shot the low score of the day with a 79.
