Friday Night Girls Hoops Recap: Warren Co Wins Big Over Franklin Road

Warren County 71, Franklin Road Christian 22

The Warren County Lady Pioneers opened their season with a dominant 71-22 win over Franklin Road Christian at home.

11 different Lady Pioneers scored, as Sable Winfree led all scorers with 13 points. Shelby Smartt scored 11 points, and Erica Cantrell added nine points.

Warren County will be back in action on Saturday at home against Community.

Columbia Academy 48, Jackson County 36

The middle two quarters proved to be the difference in the game in Jackson County’s 48-36 loss to Columbia Academy.

Trailing 11-8 after one quarter, the Lady Devils were outscored 30-18 in the second and third frames and faced a 15-point deficit heading into the final quarter. Nikki Ragland led Jackson County with 10 points, while Riley Thomas scored six points.

Jackson County’s next game will be on Tuesday when they play Watertown.

Watertown 66, Monterey 25

Monterey 54, Ezell Harding 41

The Monterey Lady Wildcats split a doubleheader on Friday, as they lost to Watertown 66-25, and then defeated Ezell Harding 54-41.

Mackenzie Raleigh led the team in scoring for both games, as she scored nine points against Watertown and 15 against Ezell Harding. Lindsey Wright added 11 points in the win.

Monterey’s next matchup will be on Tuesday when they host Sunbright.
