Friday Night Girls Hoops Recap: Clarkrange Uses Strong First-Half To Take Down Monterey

Clarkrange 71, Monterey 28

The Lady Buffaloes moved their district record to 10-0 after their 71-28 win over Monterey.

Clarkrange did a bulk of its damage in the first half, as they held a 57-10 heading into the halftime break.

Kassie Monday led all scorers with 19 points, while Kaylie Monday added 12. Ivey Padget and Adaline Clouse each scored five points for Monterey.

The Lady Buffaloes will take on Stone Memorial on Saturday, while Monterey will head to Gordonsville on Tuesday.

Clay County 77, Jackson County 46

Clay County maintained its standing in the district rankings, as they took down Jackson County in Gainesboro.

Leading by one after the first quarter, the Lady Bulldogs used a 23-8 run in the second frame to take control of the game. The second half of the game also belonged to Clay County, as they outscored Jackson County by a 39-24 margin.

Katie Arms led all with 23 points, and Bella Ashlock scored 11 points. Lilly Chaffin paced Jackson County with 10 points.

The Lady Bulldogs will face Pickett County on Tuesday, and Jackson County will host Gordonsville on Saturday.

Livingston Academy 55, Smith County 39

The Lady Cats of LA earned another district victory by defeating Smith County by a final score of 55-39.

Aleah Melton paced Livingston with 18 points, while Keaton Webb added 14.

Livingston will head to Cannon County on Saturday in a district matchup.

Stone Memorial 67, Rhea County 40

The Lady Panthers earned their fourth district win on Friday with a 67-40 win over Rhea County.

Tessa Miller led all scorers with 23 points, and Annah Goss followed up her 20-point outing on Tuesday with 14 points in the win.

Stone will host Clarkrange on Saturday.

Upperman 71, York Institute 41

The Lady Bees took down York Institute on Friday by a final score of 71-41, moving their overall record to 23-0.

Reagan Hurst scored a game-high 21 points, while Torie Brooks added 16 points. Aiyana Levy scored 14 points, and Brooklyn Crouch rounded out the quartet with 12 points.

Haylee Johnson led York with 12 points.

Upperman hosts Watertown on Tuesday, while York will take on Livingston Academy on Monday.

Van Buren 56, South Pittsburg 17

The Eaglettes won their 13th straight game on Friday in 56-17 fashion over South Pittsburg.

Kaitlin Crain led Van Buren with 10 points, while Layla Bouldin and Emily Allen each scored nine points.

Van Buren will head to Sequatchie County on Tuesday.

 White County 53, Warren County 46

The Warriorettes defeated Warren County to run their district record to 3-2.

Nia Powers paced White County in the win with 16 points, while Gracie Dodgen added 11 points. Morgan Quick was the only other Warriorette in double figures with 10 points.

Shelby Smartt and Mia Hobbs each scored 11 points to lead the Lady Pioneers.

White County will play at Cookeville on Tuesday, while Warren County will head to Franklin on Saturday.
