Friday Around UC Sports Nation: Cookeville Lady Cavs Still Perfect at 23-0

Another game, another win for the Cookeville Lady Cavaliers, Friday night at Green Hill. KK Graves scored 13, while Cassie Gallagher and Chay Cunningham added 12 apiece, as Cookeville improved to 23-0 with a 57-25 victory. Now 5-0 in District 9-4A, #2 Cookeville can clinch the regular season District Championship with a win at #9 Lebanon on Tuesday.

The Livingston Academy Lady Wildcats won their 20th game of the season on Friday, with a 68-55 win over DeKalb County. Leah Kate Clark led the way with 17, while Ellie Butler added 14. The Wildcats won for the fifth time in six games, with 46-43 win over the Tigers in the nightcap. Hayden Ledbetter paced the Wildcats with 15.

Grant Strong scored 31 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the Clay County Bulldogs’ 61-42 win over Gordonsville, which clinched at least a share of the District 7-1A regular season championship. Abby Heard tallied a career-high 26 points in the Lady Bulldogs’ 62-41 win in Friday’s opener.
