Four Warriors Swimmers Qualify For Region

Evan and Abby Welch, Madisyn Houghton, and Ben Hillis all qualified for the MTHSSA Regional Meet last Saturday in their respective events.

Junior Evan Welch won first place in the 200 meter freestyle with a time of 2:19. She finished second in the 500 meter freestyle with a time of 6:20. Welch qualified for regional’s in both events.

Sophomore Abby Welch finished second in the 200 meter freestyle with a time of 2:27. Welch qualified for regional’s in the 200 meter.

Madisyn Houghton, a junior, finished in third place in the 100 meter breast stroke. Houghton’s finish was also good enough to qualify her for regional’s.

Swimmers Katie Anderson, Kiya Simmons, Kiley Moore, and Skylar Nash, all saw personal best times in their respective events.

The White County Warriorettes finished in fourth place out of nine teams.

On the boys side Ben Hillis finished in ninth place in the 50 meter freestyle with a time of 26.49. Hillis’ finish qualified him for the regional meet.

Hillis, Ben Barnes, and Erik Hakansson all saw personal best times in their respective meets.

The White County boys finished in fifth out of 15 teams.

White County swims again this Tuesday at the Gallatin civic Center.
