Former Cavalier Named to Preseason All-OVC Football Team

Former Cookeville Cavalier football standout David Gist has been named to the 2022 preseason All-OVC football team. Gist will be a redshirt-senior this fall for the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles. The running back for the Golden Eagles rushed for just over 900 yards and averaged just under five yards per carry while scoring 8 touchdowns on the ground in 2021. He also caught 37 passes for 220 yards and reeled in one receiving score. The Golden Eagles, as a team, were picked to finish fifth in the OVC. They’ll start the season against the Kansas Jayhawks on September 2nd.
