Bees Roll To 3-0 In Win Over Smith Co.

For the second week in a row the Upperman Bees (3-0) pitched a shut-out for their home fans. Upperman blanked Smith County (2-1) 42-0 Friday night in Baxter.

Upperman out gained the Owls in total offense 314 to 121. Uppermans defense allowed 43 yards rushing on 21 attempts for a little over two yards per carry.

Sophomore Jyron McClellan scored his first touchdown of the season from nine yards out in the first quarter. McClellan’s score pushed Uppermans lead to 14-0.

Donoven McCallister connected with Daniel Metzgar, on a go route, with three seconds to play in the first half. Upperman owned a 27-0 lead at the half.

Upperman scored twice in the second half to ice the game away. Zach Stewart found the end zone on a ten-yard run in the third quarter. Freshman Terrance Dedmond scored the first touchdown of his career on a six-yard run in the fourth.

Upperman ran the ball 39 times for 224 yards and 5 touchdowns. The Bees were penalized nine times for 80 yards.

Next week Upperman host Livingston Academy in a battle of two undefeated teams.
