Tigers Earn First Victory Over Panthers

The DeKalb County Tigers (1-2) defeated the Stone Memorial Panthers (1-2) by a final score of 33-0 in Smithville, Tennessee.

Quarterback Axel Aldino ran the show for the Tigers, and led the offensive attack with two passing touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns on the night. Aldino found Desmond Nokes for a 34-yard touchdown near the end of the first half that gave the Tigers a 7-0 halftime lead.

Aldino threw his other touchdown pass early in the third quarter when Alan Munoz got open and caught a 48-yard touchdown that gave DeKalb a 14-0 lead. With under five minutes remaining in the third frame, Aldino led a scoring drive that ended with him taking the ball into the endzone for a four-yard score and a 21-0 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

Aldino’s final touchdown of the night came with just under seven minutes remaining when he scampered into the endzone from 16-yards-out to put the score at its final position at 33-0 in favor of DeKalb County.

Nathaniel Crook added a three-yard score for the Tigers, who earned their first win of the season.

The Tigers will be back in action next week when they travel Watertown, Tennessee, to take on the Watertown Purple Tigers at 7 P.M. Stone Memorial will also hit the road, as they travel to Knoxville to take on Christian Academy of Knoxville.
